BREAKING NEWS: First 12 surgeries successful
It is with huge pride that we announce the completion of our first 12 surgeries!
12 patients have undergone various types of hand surgery at a renown hospital of the statutory accident insurance in southern Germany during May and June 2025.
The participating surgeons and OR staff were impressed by the funtionality and efficacy of our SURGITENT Extremity.
Preparation of the tent, instruments, disposables and the patients' limbs were straightforward, the surgery itself eventless. It was remarked, that visibility through the window areas of the tent is excelent, even when using microscope glasses.
It was also positively noted, that the amount of waste was reduced and the disposal very easy, safe and clean.
Since these were our first clinical procedures they were performed within a hospital environment to ensure a fallback option in case of problems, These were not encountered so we are ready for applications outside the OR.

As announced in a previous post SURGITENT Extremity received an extraordinary 99 points in the Red Dot Design Award!
On July 8th 2025 Dr. Michael Ahrens of SURGITENT as well as Thomas Märzke and Lorenz Bayer of Held+Team were honored on stage at the Red Dot Awards Gala in Essen, Germany.
SURGITENT was placed on the wall of the „RedDot: Best of the Best – Designers“ next to design icons as Ferrari, Porsche and Lamborghini!
Appreciation goes to Dr. Michael Ahrens and the SURGITENT internal design team – Alina Böckenfeld, Justus Klinkforth and Fyn Marc Wibberenz together with the design agency Held+Team. Congratulations again to the entire team!​

Best of the Best
An award beyond expectations – a proud milestone for SURGITENT.
With Extremity, SURGITENT’s very first product, not only the international design stage was entered – it has been done so in the best possible way: by winning the Red Dot: Best of the Best in the Category Innovative Design.
This distinction represents the highest recognition in the Red Dot Design Award and is reserved for only the most outstanding products in each category – those that set new standards in design and innovation. For the first time in the award’s history, Red Dot also introduced a scoring system: a maximum of 100 points awarded by an international jury of experts. SURGITENT Extremity received an extraordinary 99 points!
At the heart of SURGITENT stands the original visionary: Dr. Michael Ahrens. Together with the design agency Held+Team , and the SURGITENT internal design team – Alina Böckenfeld, Justus Klinkforth and Fyn Marc Wibberenz – this concept became reality.

DRG Forum, Berlin 20.-21.03.2025
SURGITENT was presented by General Manager Alexander Kohtz and Investor Dr. Peter Müller at Germany's biggest gathering of hospital managers, clinic groups, insurance companies and healthcare politics. We received a great level of interest in our SURGITENT Extremity with it's material loading Air-Lock on the left and the Orthopedic Sleeve as port for the disinfected limb of the patient on the right, as demonstrated by Alexander Kohtz to Aleksandar Smiljanic, Head of Military Operations at Karl Storz.

Medddbase Training - 21.01.2025
It is with sincere appreciation that we were asked by our distribution partner Medddbase to provide in depth trainig to their staff in preparation of our market launch in Germany. Medddbase will support SURGITENTs logistal processes and customer interaction. We look forward to a fruitful cooperation.

Amsterdam 16-19 June 2025
SURGITENT had a great participation at HLTH Europe in Amsterdam from June 16th to June 19th. Founder and General Manager Dr. Michael Ahrens and General Manager Alexander Kohtz were able to demonstrate SURGITENT's solution to healthcare providers from all over the world. Follow up will lead to supply contracts, distribution agreements and development contracts for defense and military amongst others. ​
