Hospital

SURGITENT by it's nature shortens preparation time for operations (so-called set-up times) and thus improves the utilization of operating rooms. Less draping material is required in the operating room compared to conventional operations, saving money, waste and logistical efforts.
SURGITENT ensures the desired absence of germs similar to a sophisticated operating room environment. This allows to carry out

  • simple interventions as well as

  • time-critical surgical treatments of patients or

  • patients who may be infected with challenging germs

outside of the central operating room, in units that are easier to isolate and clean (e.g. outpatient rooms).

The risk of possible cross-contamination and the endangerment of the integrity of the entire operating room can thus be avoided.

SURGITENT also adresses the potential lack of spatial operating room capacity in:

  • peak times (accidents with a multitude of injured persons) or

  • operating rooms that are blocked by elctive surgeries

In crisis scenarios, it allows the high-value resource chief/senior physician to quickly switch between different interventions whereas the standard sections of these intervebntions can be  handled by less experienced surgeons.

Ambulatory Care

Outpatient surgery

SURGITENT provides an equivalent germ-free standard to the central operating room - no matter where, no matter when.
A general practitioner can thus carry out suitable surgical procedures in his practice.

Hospitals can improve their range of outpatient surgery and become more attractive to general practitioners while avoiding the high investment costs of a conventional operating room.

Remote Coverage

SURGITENT will allow surgical care

  • in rural areas that are lacking hospital coverage or

  • for patients with limited mobility

utilizing mobile units of traumatologists or emergency physicians (e.g. "hospital on wheels", "flying doctors").

In times of epidemics (e.g.Corona), patients avoid hospitals due to fear of infection. Practices can provide flexible relief here and adapt their range of treatments.

Desaster Relief

Volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, earthquakes, hurricanes or wild fires - it is essential to act quickly and yet safely in order to provide best possible quality medical care even in these compromised environments.
SURGITENT represents a light and compact sterile surgical system, which is easy to transport thanks to its small volume and weight could even be delivered by drone if necessary. Since it requires no power to operate SURGITENT can be used anywhere and at any time.

Conflict Zones

Military
NATO roles (1 to 4) is the structured process of medical care, in which surgical intervention is only planned from Role 2 onwards.
Offering a small and mobile controlled operating room environment, enables early surgical damage control (ESDC) from Role 1 onwards.
Wounded soldiers can receive medical treatment at an early stage and possible subsequent damage (e.g. amputation of limbs or loss of important bodily functions) or death can be avoided. SURGITENT can also save lives beyond helicopters' reach or where advanced hygiene is not available.
Conflicts
In many conflicts, medical facilities have been deliberately targeted, with dire consequences. To avoid possible attacks, large medical facilities can be split up and divided into several smaller, decentralized mobile units.

Developing Countries

In particular, poorly industrialized countries or economically growing developing countries (so-called emerging countries) can benefit from SURGITENT without expensive investments and maintenance costs in order to standardize the very different quality and distribution of surgical care amongst their population.
